As a responsible gun owner, safety is paramount. Whether you’re a 2A defender, a gun control advocate or, like most of us, land somewhere in between, we can all at least agree that a safety mindset is a critical part of responsible gun ownership. Simply put, with power comes responsibility…the right to defend yourself comes with the responsibility to keep yourself and those around you safe. Gun owners must do their part. Along with regular training they must take the necessary steps to prevent negligent discharges and to prevent their firearms from getting into the wrong hands. This is not a responsibility to be taken lightly.
As a kid in the ‘80s we spent a lot of time in the arcade…chasing one of the most satisfying feelings in the world…like crossing the finish line first in “Pole Position” or rescuing Pauline from the evil ape Donkey Kong. On the other hand, the consequences came when we missed a turn or failed to time a jump led to one of the worst feelings in the world…digging for another quarter…or the worst of all…running out of quarters. It was tough being a kid.
Firearms don’t come with a roll of quarters and a mistake will cost more than a quarter…much more. The consequences of taking a shortcut, skipping a step, or neglecting your responsibility as a gun owner are too great to ignore.
If the immediate, life-changing aftermath is not enough persuasion to take the proper precautions, there are even more consequences to consider. After an incident, some states and local municipalities even presume there was some level of wrongdoing by the shooter, whether you acted lawfully or not. They’ll often bring charges and just let the courts sort it out…leaving you with a costly legal battle. Additionally, many states are taking up legislation to encourage (and mandate) safe use and storage of firearms, especially in the presence of minors.
Safety is indeed critical when handling firearms and the RedCat can be an important part of your safety plan. Responsible gun owners store their firearm safely and prevent their firearms from getting into the wrong hands. Although the RedCat is not a primary safety device, it is an ideal add-on for any situation:
1. For home storage, the rifle is rendered inert as a secondary layer of safety for home storage.
2. For retail display, the rifle is rendered inert without any outward indication
3. For transportation, the RedCat provides a better alternative to “rack safe.”
Use the RedCat as a secondary safety device in your safe or rifle case. It installs in seconds and renders the rifle completely inert. That extra bit of security is worth the peace of mind when it comes to keeping yourself and those around you safe.
